I snapped a picture on the way to work a few weeks ago, and I realized that I really liked it. This is looking ESE at about 5:15 AM. I love that you can just make out the oil pumping derricks at about "7 o'clock" under the sun.

It was interesting to see what my little camera would do while pointed directly into the sun.

Very nice shot and well done! I like the glow of the sun... I haven't done many shots like that. I always try and offset the sun, but this really works. Nice job!
Lovely!! I like the shadow of the fence and reflection on the water!
Didn't you say your camera has manual options...? Try setting your aperture smaller (higher number) you will get a nice sunburst effect :-)
@P.J.: Thanks. I didn't know if it would work, or make a visual mess. More experiments are on the way!
@Eika: Thanks. Is that how you do that? I'll keep that in mind if we have a clear morning any time soon. Thanks for the tip about Flikr; it does seem to look better than the straight upload to Blogger.
