Cherry Blossoms

It's that time of year again in Okinawa. Okinawans, and Japanese people take their cherry blossoms very seriously.

I took a couple of quick photos at a nearby park today while searching for a three part multi-cache. I found part one quickly, since I recognized the well camouflaged container from another cache, but got stumped on part two.

Oh well; it was a nice day at the park. Here we are in January, and it was 73 degrees!

So beautiful. Do they smell good?

Erika, they have a pleasant, albeit mild fragrance. They're much better for looking at, IMO.

When do the petals drop?

BZ, ususally within three days, but the process is continuous over the island for a few weeks.

These cherry blossoms are beautiful. I know caching in this area had to be great.

@Sumajman: Yes; it was a good time, even if I came up empty on the final stages of the multi. I had not been caching in a while, and it was good to be out poking around again. The cherry blossoms were an added treat.
